Job Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of policy strategy, including identifying key policy issues, assessing potential impacts, and advocating for favourable outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advance the policy priorities.
  • Lead advocacy efforts to influence policy decisions and regulatory outcomes favourable to clients.
  • Own the strategy, narrative and media relationships for shaping the company’s reputation.
  • Work with journalists to handle PR crisis situations by working with leadership team, spokespersons and legal teams to craft our strategy and response.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate policy considerations into business strategies and operations.
  • Analyse proposed policies, regulations, and legislation to assess potential risks and opportunities and develop recommendations for action.
  • Represent the company in policy forums, public hearings, and industry conferences, articulating our positions and advocating for policies that support our objectives.
  • Prepare briefing materials, policy papers, and other communications to educate internal and external stakeholders on relevant policy issues and developments.
  • Provide strategic counsel on public policy, regulatory issues, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Developing innovative and influential thought leadership content.
  • Be responsible for tracking, monitoring and improving indicators for healthy employer branding.

Required Skills:

  • Strategic Policy Development: Expertise in creating and implementing strategic policies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of laws and regulations relevant to the industry.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: A proven ability for influencing, and working with, government officials, regulators, NGOs, coalitions and other partner groups that operate in India’s technology policy landscape.
  • Advocacy: Proven skills in influencing policy changes and legislative outcomes.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills for assessing policy impacts and proposing solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and engage media, executives, and peers.
  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying and solving regulatory challenges.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in planning, executing, and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Degree (BS/BA, MA, MBA) in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience (communications, public affairs, economics and the like).
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and solve complex problems while making decisions with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of external groups and individuals, including those who may be opponents or critics.
  • Articulate, thoughtful and strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a self-starter in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
