About us:
At its heart, Probo is an opinion trading platform building prediction markets for India. On Probo, users can find questions on many topics of their interest, like sports, news, finance and many more. Users can swipe yes or no to express their opinion and place trade(s), and by doing so they enter into an event contract with another user on the other side of the trade. Probo is a matching engine that enables the execution of this event contract. Each trade is INR 10, and at the end of the event contract, the user with the correct opinion wins the quantum at stake.

About the Role:
As a Category Manager at Probo, you will be responsible for driving the growth and engagement of various information markets categories, including Cryptocurrency, Politics, Entertainment, Stocks, Youtube, and Kabbadi. Your role will be crucial in crafting category strategies, curating relevant content, and ensuring a competitive edge in the opinion trading space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy & Growth:
    - Develop and execute category strategies to enhance user engagement, acquisition, and retention across diverse information markets.
    - Stay ahead of market trends and competitive landscape, particularly in relation to global players like Kalshi and Polymarket, to ensure Probo's offerings are cutting-edge and aligned with user interests.
  • Content Curation & Promotion:
    - Curate and manage high-quality content within each category, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
    - Design and implement targeted promotional campaigns to boost category performance and user participation.
  • Market & Partner Management:
    - Manage relationships with content creators, influencers, and other key partners to enrich category offerings and optimize user experience.
    - Negotiate partnerships and collaborations to ensure Probo remains a leader in the opinion trading space.
  • Data-Driven Insights:
    - Leverage data analytics tools (Python, SQL, Tableau/Power BI) to derive actionable insights that drive category growth and user engagement.
    - Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to continuously optimize category strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in category management, product management, or a similar role, preferably in a data-driven or trading environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis tools.
  • Proven track record in managing partnerships, content creation, and promotional campaigns.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively across teams.
